Garmin GPSs

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

With the credit crunch I have started to become a lot more careful with what I am spending my money on. I have decided that I need to get a new garmin but deciding on which one is pretty tricky. I do not want to spend an unnecessary amount of money but I do want one that I will not have to replace very quickly. I lost my Garmin 96 and so if I am likely to lose the next one I buy then it would make sense to go for a cheaper model. However, if I do not lose it, which is likely as I do not often lose things, then it might be better to get one with more features.

This would mean that I would not need to upgrade it so quickly. Something like the Garmin 496 could be good as I think it looks cool as well as having great features. However, there are others which I think probably give better value for money and so I have also been considering the Garmin 296 as well. It is a tricky decision and I expect it will take me several more days research before I make up my mind.

Sound Barriers for Noise Pollution

Saturday, February 28th, 2009

Noise pollution affects the sound system of the human body and damages the important tissues of brain. Tall buildings built with HVAC systems and rooftops are main sources of noise pollution. These HVAC systems use heavy chillers and boilers, which produce high frequency sound. Such sounds have serious impact on the human brain and they should be stopped by using some barrier system. Sound barrier systems act as good alternative for reducing the noise level. These sound barrier walls are also called as sound enclosures. They are entirely different from traditional sound barriers. These sound barriers have the ability to reduce noise generated by outlets of chimneys and boilers.

In olden days, reflective products like concrete and bricks were used for reducing noise, but they were not too effective. These reflective products were able to redirect the sound, but were not able to absorb it. Today, the latest HVAC enclosures have the ability to absorb high frequency sounds and reflect back the low frequency sounds. These absorbing sound enclosures are able to minimize risk of unintentional sounds and maintain the effectiveness of the barrier. These HVAC barrier systems are light weight and have modular design. They are non corrosive, as well as non conductive, and are graffiti resistant.

Cellphone market gloom spreads to Samsung

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

SEOUL/HELSINKI (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics on Monday warned on cellphone market growth this year and next, the latest sign that weaker consumer confidence is hitting the wireless sector around the world.

“The actual global market growth on a unit basis could come short of our initial forecast for 9 percent growth (in 2008),” James Chung, a spokesman for Samsung, told Reuters.

“As for next year, it is possible that the market could post a single-digit or even negative growth,” Chung added.

Samsung’s gloomy outlook echoed the warning issued on November 14 by top handset maker Nokia Oyj that the world’s mobile phone market would fall in the fourth quarter and next year as an economic slowdown crimps consumer demand.

“At the moment it’s all doom and gloom for several quarters,” said CCS Insight analyst Geoff Blaber.

In addition to weakening consumer demand, telecom operators in developed markets have cut subsidies, further increasing the problems.

“Handsets are essentially far more expensive than they were four months ago. That just makes the situation worse for everyone in the value chain,” Blaber said.

Samsung’s comments were made after the close of trade in Seoul. Nokia shares were up 2.5 percent at 10.25 euros in Helsinki, underperforming 3.7 percent firmer technology sector index.

Last week Salcomp, the world’s largest handset charger maker, warned its 2008 sales would fall from a year ago. The firm, which supplies chargers to all top vendors, said its clients have continued to clearly cut sales forecasts each week.

“More negative news is coming all the time, the situation is turning worse all the time,” said Martti Larjo, analyst with Nordea in Helsinki.

Samsung issued its 9 percent global handset growth forecast in June, and until now had refrained from issuing any forecast regarding 2009.

Reaching 9-percent market growth would mean a 6-7 percent annual rise in the fourth-quarter, which analysts said was almost impossible in current economic situation.

“The market will certainly be down year-on-year in the fourth quarter,” said Nordea’s Larjo.

Handset makers had remained relatively unscathed by the global economic crisis this year, but successive warnings from Nokia, Qualcomm and Intel signal a rapid deterioration of consumer electronics demand.

Monday, July 28th, 2008

Does your life revolve around exploring what lies underneath the deep blue seas? If so, then you should also protect yourself from the dangers you may encounter with your underwater adventures. You can do that by using one of the most innovative gadgets that has helped a lot of people in the marine industry-a marine GPS system.

Marine GPS Systems are electronic tracking devices fishermen, divers, marine scientists and even the Marine Corps use to map out the terrains under the sea. Just like the regular GPS systems used to create digital maps and track people, animals and properties, marine GPS systems work as your map your way underneath the ocean.

These devices can also detect the presence of entities that may cause harm such as other underwater vessels or dangerous water animals like sharks. Because of the proven usefulness and innovation, these gadgets have become not only one of the best military tactical gear ever created, but have also been regarded as a breakthrough in the marine fishing industry since they can track where the big catch is located.

This marine gadget works best with Bushnell scopes. While you’re alerted of the coming dangers through the GPS system, you can also clearly see where and how those dangers are coming through these state-of-the-art scopes, thus you know what to do keep yourself safe.

Quality dslr camera or quality lenses?

Friday, July 11th, 2008

<!– /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:”"; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:”Times New Roman”; mso-fareast-font-family:”Times New Roman”;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} –>

Im buying my first dslr camera mainly because I need to take some high quality photographs of products (books and cds), architecture and landscapes. However, i’m on a budget. I’ve been looking at cameras lately and i’m unsure whether to get a cheaper camera with an expensive lens or vise versa. The cheaper camera would consist of a Nikon D60 or used D200 with a $1000+ lens. The expensive camera would be a Canon 40D with a slighter better lens to the kit lens. Should I put my money into the camera or the lens?

I have some some high end prime lenses They’re not that much better they my kit lens. The kits lens that come with the cameras are really great. If you don’t trust me just look up lens “reviews” they will compare a 2,000 dollar lens to a 200 dollar one . The 2,000 is no where close to “10 times better” in fact it’s even hard to tell. Only thing that really helps with a high dollar lens is there fast. Allow you to take low light shots.

Seeing you’re not taking any actions or low light pictures. You really don’t need a mid range camera like the 40d.
The reason to buy the mid range cameras like this are for the fast fps and the low noise at high iso. Both that you will not be using.

I would buy a d80/d200 or sony a200-a300 so you can use old prime lens. Then i would buy a couple prime lenses for your landscaping. They are cheap and the look great. No need to buy a 1000 lens when a 75 dollar prime looks like as great. Then i would buy a lighting setup for your products. Lighting is what make products look good not the camera.
