I never realised that people could take paintballing so seriously until I saw some paintball guns for sale. I suppose I have always thought of it as something that people just do for the odd party of team building event and not really considered that they might take it really seriously and play often and competitively. However, there is really no reason why they shouldn’t really – it is a great team sport, good for reactions and alertness and keeps you fit as well. It is certainly a lot more fun than going out jogging and much better for you than going to the pub! I guess it appeals to a certain type of person, maybe those that are more into extreme sport. I am sure that many non sporty or older people would have no intention of buying their own paintballs and other equipment and probably would never even want to play the game unless they were forced or felt obliged. Others go out and buy the latest tippmann x7 accessories and take it all very seriously. I suppose it is just like anything really – some things we really like and other things we are not so keen on.
